November-Makin' the Big Bucks

Merritt: Where mommy going?
Mark: Mommy's going to work to make the big bucks!
Merritt: Big Box! Hav-a, hav-a big box!

So...as you will see in the slideshow, I make big boxes at work and we brought one home for Merritt! November has been a great month with lots of change in the kids. Merritt is really starting to say more sentences and we are learning to think with the mind of a 2 and a half year old. He loves to play with Morgan and can't wait until she wakes up. Merritt also brought a worm in the house in his pocket and told me about it hours later. Morgan is now walking with her push toys or with Merritt's help; he holds her fingers and walks her around the house. She is about ready to get off of formula and started feeding herself with a fork today! She can wave and clap, but we have not heard any "real" words yet.

A Little Update

It is so fun to hear the kids laughing together! When I get home from work, we put the kids to bed and then we sit down to eat dinner. Recently, our background noise has been them peaking over the tops of their beds gigling at each other. One of them will squeal and the other squeals back. This goes on and on and on until Morgan gets too tired to stand anymore.
Morgan started crawling yesterday and she was quite smug amount it; she was very proud of her acheivement and so were we. Now we are in trouble-two on the move! Mark caught some of it on video. She also has her bottom two teeth and has been munching on crackers, cheerios, corn and whatever else she can steal from Merritt while he is distracted.
Merritt has been really focused on playing by himself a lot more lately. He will play with his trains or his Fisher Price "trio" blocks all by himself. He knows a lot of his numbers but refuses to say them on command. He rides his push bike with ease these days, coasting for long periods of time. Mark said that if we had a pedal bike, he'd put him on it now!

Picnic at the Park

Our church just started organizing sack lunch Sunday night dinners at the park. Edwin graciously entertained the boys.
I think they all had fun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MERRITT!

We celebrated as a family on the real birthday and here are a few shot of present time. Thank you to all of the out of town relatives who sent gifts or who contributed to them. Merritt loved them all!

Sneaky Morgan!

I just love all of these pictures! Of course your favorites never turn out to be the best pictures photographically...as far as focus, lighting, shutter speed etc, but I wanted to show them to you anyway! My favorite is the one of the two kids. You might be thinking huh? where's a photo of the pair of them? Well, look real close at the shot of Merritt and you will see that Morgan has figured out that she can lift up the crib bumper a peek beneath it. She was spying on Merritt and I during story time. Merritt got the biggest kick out of it. The other shot is of Morgan finding her face in the mirror for the first time.

Morgan is just starting to sit up and stand on her own, but not for very long periods of time!

The First Zoo Trip

We have now firmly established that animal do not rank as high as machinery. We got more excitement from Merritt driving through Mt Vernon and seeing tractors, excavators and cranes from the highway, then we did from the zoo.

We tried to explain to Merritt that you can't point the super powered hose nozzle directly at the dirt, but he had to learn by trial and error! I love the look of utter disbelief!

The Deming Log Show

All of the photos look the same...Merritt with an amazed look on his face in about 4 dozen different logging type vehicles. Note the line up of machinery visible in the picture backgrounds...

Merritt watching someone doing chainsaw art.
This was so cool! This was a real working "mini size" bulldozer. Merritt actually got to push dirt around!

Lake Chelan

We have started a family tradition of going to the east side of the mountains every year with our friends the Martinez'. We had another great time this year and the weather was wonderful!
